Truka is inspired by the sparkle and spontaneity kids bring
to movement and mindfulness. She creates a playful, non-competitive
space for self-discovery in which kids can challenge themselves
in balance and concentration. Through story, connection to nature,
song and cooperative movement, she offers kids yoga's many tools
to anchor awareness in the body as a source of wonder, strength
and agility.
She has been teaching mindful
movement and breath to kids since 1994, including two years
at rural Japanese pre-schools, elementary and middle-schools.
She received her Hatha certification in 2005 at the Integral
Yoga Institute and completed the Street
Yoga, it's
Yoga Kids and Full of Joy
Yoga teacher trainings in 2006. Kate also teaches Hatha
yoga to adults, specializing in restorative yoga which focuses
on calming the nervous system -- an element she also incorporates
in the energetic kids' classes. Above all, Kate hopes to cultivate
in her students a deep kindness towards themselves and others
through yoga.

Copeland, a former elementary school teacher, has witnessed
the positive impact that classroom yoga has on students. She
was amazed at how much fun her students had during their “yoga
breaks” and how a sense of calm and focus lingered in
the classroom.
Since completing
her Full of Joy
Yoga training, she has used her enthusiasm to create a cheerful,
noncompetitive atmosphere in her yoga sessions, allowing children
to freely/safely explore balance, concentration, and the breath.
Katie integrates storytelling, games and music with the practice
of yoga.
Katie received
a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelors Degree
in Liberal Studies including minors in computer science, psychology

Charne combines her passions, children and yoga, to provide
a play-based, child-led, fun-filled yoga class. She believes
that experiencing yoga at a tender, ripe age brings a strong
connection to the self, awareness of the body, positive self-esteem,
and a respect for the importance of health, of others and for
the world around them. There is no opportunity richer than a
child’s inquiry and exploration into their own yoga. Her
classes offer practice in mindfulness, meditation, breathing
tools, energy sources, yogic philosophy and postures by incorporating
traditional and creative yoga poses, stories, songs and fun!
To Amber, yoga provides children with techniques to find peace
and quiet in this busy world. It also helps to increase concentration
skills, to maintain a healthy body and lifestyle, builds self-love,
and so much more.
Amber is a
former pre-school teacher and has worked with children throughout
her entire life. With a BA in Anthropology, the study of people,
Amber is thrilled to be working in what she loves to do! She
attained her Kids Yoga Certification with Full
of Joy Yoga in 2007 and her 200 Hour Certification with
Nosara Yoga Institute
in Costa Rica in 2008. She currently lives in Berkeley and enjoys
being involved with the community as much as possible, teaching
yoga to children ages 3 though 13 at various schools, with Niroga
Institute, a local NOG, and teaching adults at various yoga
studios around the Bay Area. You can find out more about Amber

Robkin was drawn to teaching yoga to kids because it combines
so many of her passions: children, healing, movement, creativity,
play, body acceptance, and a sense of the mystery. From her
own experience in forming a positive relationship to her body,
she feels strongly about helping children feel good in and about
their bodies and she believes that yoga is a wonderful means
to do so.
She received
her BA from NYU in 2004 in a self-created major, which focused
on the use of movement in healing. There she studied a wide
range of disciplines such as Dance Therapy, Buddhism, Psychology,
and Choreography. Her interest in exploring body practices lead
her to her first yoga class at Jivamukti
in NYC, which soon after turned into an independent study.
During her
first year in San Francisco, she was an assistant teacher at
the Helen Diller Preschool and also taught creative movement
at Dance Mission. Corinne is currently studying at the San
Francisco Clown Conservatory. Corinne has her Kids Yoga
Certification from Full of Joy
Yoga.
Corinne’s yoga classes vary depending energy of the class—while
she’ll come in with a loose lesson plan, she often lets
the kids determine what they are in the mood for, which is something
Corinne picked up from one of her favorite SF Yoga teachers.
She enjoys incorporating dance, circus, storytelling, body awareness,
and guided meditation in her classes.
